Solar PV manufacturer Astronergy has signed an agreement with Romanian energy company EXIMPROD Grup to supply 200 MW worth of PV modules to the group's pipeline of five solar projects.
Astronergy said that under the first collaboration between the two companies, it will supply EXIMPROD with a 200MW Tunneling Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) module. The first modules will start shipping from June this year.
"We believe our TOPCon PV modules are a better choice for most possible application scenarios, and are happy to see our TOPCon modules continue to function and produce more green electricity for local people," said Samuel Zhang, CMO. astronomy.
The company recently signed a 454MW TOPCon supply agreement for a PV project in Brazil and shipped 154.4MW of its n-type TOPCon panels to Germany to equip Antlike Solar's factory in Döhlen, Brandenburg.
N-type technology is increasingly becoming an industry norm; Solar Module Super Alliance member JinkoSolar said in March that it expects 60% of its module shipments in 2023 to be n-type TOPCon technology, and has recently announced a 10% increase in the technology in Belgium, France and Italy. Several European TOPCon manufacturing announcements were made.
